Farm Dog Tests and Practice
Your dog responds well to commands at home and in public, but how would he respond in a farm environment? There’s an easy way to find out: Sign him up for a Farm Dog Certified test.
Open to all breeds of dogs 9 months and older, this test involves your dog performing a series of 12 exercises that are typical for a farm environment such as being in close proximity to livestock (who are always penned to avoid any altercations); jumping and staying on hay/straw bales; walking on unusual terrain; and jumping over logs. There is no herding involved. Instead, the goal is to assess his aptitude as a working farm dog by exhibiting self-control, confidence and trust with you or his handler.

Both tests will be completed back to back and you will receive an assigned time. An email will be sent to all participants with their time after closing when the schedule has been completed.

This will help you prepare to pass a Farm Dog Certification Test to get the FDC title on your dog!
Each dog and handler will be introduced to each element and allowed time to practice and receive instruction. Farm animals will include horses, sheep, ducks and chickens
$25 per dog or $10 for a test run
Practice format will include information about the testing and dogs and handlers will be able to take time at each station and focus on problem areas. Test runs will include instruction and feedback but will be conducted in a single straight through format that will mimic testing.
Practice available every day 11am-4pm
